"You no longer need to wear a face covering, but consider wearing one in crowded, enclosed spaces where you may come into contact with people you do not normally meet."
February 2022 Although of no surprise to any of us, it is worthy of our thanks that the work going on behind the scenes, by chapel staff, to ensure as much care and preparation is carried out between services in both Hartlepool and Stockton is quite incredible. These great people are quietly ensuring that your services can go ahead and be attended by as many people as possible in these most difficult of times. Thank you all!
February 14th  2022 Stranton Grange Chapel, Hartlepool have lifted their restrictions on numbers which has been a wonderful thing to many families. All they ask is that we continue to be considerate and mindful of the wellbeing of others around you. Masks can still be worn if you so choose.

Coronavirus restrictions have ended, but the government is urging everyone to stay cautious. We're recommending the following maximum number of attendees at services:
  • St Bede's Chapel - 60 attendees
  • St Hilda's Chapel - 30 attendees
In the interests of safety, we also recommend:
  • wearing face coverings inside the chapels
  • social distancing inside the chapels
  • using the hand sanitiser provided
  • no singing by mourners
If you do not want to follow our Covid-secure recommendations, please let us know via your funeral director.
We reserve the right to change these recommendations, or put in place restrictions or limitations, based on local public health guidance.

"Funerals and commemorative events are very meaningful and important events to attend. If you have COVID-19 and you need to leave your home to attend a funeral or commemorative event while you are still infectious, you can take steps to reduce the chance of passing on the infection to others:"
  1. Wear a well-fitting face covering made with multiple layers or a surgical face mask.
  2. Avoid close contact with anyone you know who is at higher risk of becoming severely unwell if they are infected with COVID-19.
  3. Avoid crowds during the funeral or commemorative event, or anywhere that is poorly ventilated or enclosed.
  4. Limit close contact with other people outside your household as much as possible. Try and keep outside and stay at least 2 metres apart from them.
  5. Be especially careful with your hand and respiratory hygiene.
*** This guidance was withdrawn on 5 April 2022 ***
