Their stories. Our words. A shared celebration.
Saying a final farewell or goodbye to a loved one is possibly the hardest thing that any of us will ever do. But, as we work our way through our personal grief and pain, we often feel one simple truth and wish - that their passing is marked in a way that was fitting, and true, to all that they are to us as a treasured and unique person. We want to celebrate the life that they lived rather than mourn a life, sadly, now passed.
Some can find this wish met in a traditional church led service. For others, church life was simply never their way. For them, it is far more appropriate to have a very heartfelt and personal ceremony that is a true celebration of their life. Together we remember and honour their memory. We enjoy a service of substance and meaning with only ever your chosen references to beliefs or religion.
And this is where Let it be said can be here for you.
I offer personally created civil ceremonies which are professionally delivered to the highest of standards. My ceremonies can be entirely
non-religious or, through your choices of hymns, readings and prayer, may contain religious references. I simply act upon your own beliefs, values and wishes.
In choosing to appoint me as your celebrant, I spend my time with you and your family. I get to know, and appreciate, more about your loved one. Together we lovingly create a eulogy (their life story) based upon the memories and stories that you share with me in our time together. We will typically have times of chat and some times of quiet reflection. Tears are often shed. But, there will also be times of shared laughter. This is all a very natural and welcomed part of our meetings and preparation. From here, I can then create a true, heartfelt and very personal ceremony that celebrates the life that has now passed.
To help you further, I can suggest a choice of readings, poems and music that you may wish to include in addition to your own personal thoughts.
If you wish to have family and friends read or speak, we happily build this into your ceremony.
Together we create the most fitting celebration of life possible.
The day of the ceremony is your day. It is a time for your thoughts and feelings. We will have already discussed and planned the events of the ceremony. From the order of service, the content and the people you wish to be involved with. Everything will be in place. We will all know what the ceremony is to involve - from the arrival, choices of music, readings and the agreed final goodbye. It becomes the responsibility of both myself and the funeral director to ensure that the service runs smoothly. And we take great care and pride in achieving this for you.
What do you need to do next?
If this sounds like the type of ceremony you would like, the next step is to please just get in touch with me.
You can do this using the details on my contact page. We can then arrange a suitable time to have a first discussion and chat. Alternatively, you can ask your funeral director to contact me directly.
I truly hope that this page will have been of help to you and that you find the celebrant who can deliver the ceremony that you and your family both wish for and deserve.
Best wishes,
